Academics: Macalester students are passionate about their academics: we have posts about a student's three favorite professors, doing an honor's project on a family of monkeys, a neuroscience lab involving ballroom dancing, and taking "The 6 Degrees of Harry Potter" at a nearby college. And here's what a typical class in the beginning of April might be like.

Study abroad: One of the highlights of many students' academic experience at Mac is spending a full semester abroad. Currently, Collin is in Durban, South Africa, and Kalie is in London, England. Other students have reflected on semesters in Morocco and Northern Ireland.

There are many events keeping students' occupied: famous speakers such as Garrison Keilor and Walter Mondale, poetry slams, annual cultural festivals, concerts on and off-campus and museums, plays, and hockey games.
